WINTER STAYS
Private camping is permitted on the mountain and a number of basic refuge huts, some with historical significance, are provided throughout the resort. Most have wood heaters and fire wood is provided. There is no charge for camping or the use of these refuge facilities, however they cannot be booked in advance and if you are planning to stay overnight on the mountain you must come prepared to be self sufficient and not rely on any shelter, with the exception of the Alpine Camp (see below). Nights can be extremely cold and camping is only advised for those who have experience and outdoor equipment rated for extreme weather.
During the winter season Stirling Experience operate an Alpine Camp, situated at the Cricket Pitch, 3 kilometres from Telephone Box Junction at an elevation of 1500mts. The camp accommodates up to 28 people in seven spacious and well insulated four person tents. A large Teepee with solar lighting and a slow combustion wood stove with hot water provides a warm central community meals and meeting area.
Accommodation in the Alpine Camp can be booked in advance online using the button below. For further details and bookings please visit our Alpine Camp page.
Stirling Experience Alpine Camp is the only Accommodations which can be booked in advance.
NOTE: While an amazing and exhilarating experience, it should be noted that all on-mountain camping is ski-in ski-out. Snow shoes or skis must be worn and personal equipment backpacks used to access all camp sites.
