Find out all you need to know and more about biking at:

Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Resorts are home to a comprehensive network of cross-country mountain bike trails, which are free to use (during the non-winter period only) and range from easy to advanced. Mt Stirling boasts the acclaimed Stonefly mountain bike trail, as well as the resort's newest and most spectacular trail (and arguably the country's best), the Australian Alpine Epic.

The vast network of cross-country trails have been designed and built by renowned trail designer Glen Jacobs and his team from World Trail. The trails are designed to be low maintenance, sustainable and blend seamlessly with the alpine environment. Mt Buller and Mt Stirling's cross-country trails are free to use and are suitable for conventional mountain bikes. They range in altitude from 600 metres to 1805 metres, and include a variety of technical features and obstacles.

Most trails are also open to other mountain visitors, including walkers, horse riders and 4-Wheel Drives, so please ride appropriately and be courteous to other trail users.

Hit the trails with your own bike, or hire some equipment and join a tour. It’s a great way to experience Mt Stirling first hand!

The Australian Alpine Epic mountain bike trail

The Epic trail is a 40km cross-country endurance mountain bike trail that takes in some of the High Country's most spectacular trails and scenery. Starting at Mt Buller, the Epic takes riders on an incredible journey through the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Resorts (managed by the Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management), Mansfield State Forest (managed by the Department of Sustainability and Environment), and the Mt Russell Education Area (managed by Parks Victoria). The result of a lengthy planning process and the recipient of significant state and federal government funding, the trail is the jewel in the crown of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling's ongoing trail development plan.
